Off the ground

28th June 2007:

Bless him ........ I have finally started my watercolour of the Dunlin. A few weeks have passed, but the little mite as been outlined and marked with the masking fluid highlight areas, and my usual rough reference points. Looking really rough and ready at this Stage, but at least he is up on my board waiting ....

This painting will probably take me a few weeks yet again, but I have wanted to do this wader for some time. I will add the various stages to the blog as I did with the Great Crested Grebe.

I haven`t as yet added the framed work to the main website, but this should be up soon.

still required ......

I am still looking around in the Llanelli area for a possible venue to exhibit some work near the end of 2007. The venue does not have to be large, but should be either well lit or with good spot lighting, and in a quiet and relaxed environment. Please contact me with any details.

I am also in need of finding an additional model to work with occasionally for Life drawing, and might be available at short notice to tie in in between my increasing commitments. Must be trustworthy and possibly with an art background.
Any enquiry will be dealt with confidentially.

new work

16th June 2007:
I`ll be starting a new watercolour over the next week or so, probably of a Dunlin, a small little wader that I have wanted to do a painting of for some time. This will continue my nature theme for 2007 as planned, although I hope to at some stage start a watercolour of Greenfield Chapel, Llanelli during the summer, and then some `local life`work (markets, cobbled streets, etc)
I managed to get back to some life drawing during last week, although I was so out of practice. Rusty indeed. It has been months away from this, and i`m afraid to say that it will take me some time to get back in the swing of things. Due to difficulties in arranging convenient evenings, I am looking for a further local life model (from the art community) who might be available if need be. Please e-mail.

There should be some more photography added to the website by the Autumn, and I have put back the redesign of the gallery in Lightroom until then. I hope to be changing my camera equipment soon, and will probably then use a mix of film and digital more often.

The image here was taken at Crackington Haven, North Cornwall, in August last year.More can be seen on the website.

I hope to add an additional section to my website on the framed work for sale soon as well.
