Mid-February

The work on the Sparrowhawk watercolour is slowly but surely progressing, although a long way to go yet. I have concentrated on defining the plumage areas of the wing rather than the tone of the plumage itself. This is just my way of doing things and working my way around the picture.

I haven`t as yet been able to get back to my Life Drawing, but this might follow soon.

Photography

Alongside this, and I have a carried out a bit more photography during this period of fine early-Spring
weather, this time along Cefn Sidan that adjoins Pembrey Forest in Carmarthenshire.

In the not-too-distant future I hope to put some of the latest images together on the website in a Flash gallery.

photography

9th February 2008:

A lovely early Spring-like day enable me to start some photography around the South Gower`s Three Cliffs Bay again.
Always a stunning location, the area is a mixture of beautiful smooth sands, fantastic geology, rugged cliffs and a peaceful winding inlet that leads up to a undisturbed woodland walk..
Visually it must be one of the most attractive areas of the Gower, although that is a difficult statement to make with so many wonderful places on both the North and South coastlines.

Thank you

Thank you to my friends at the National Wetland Centre for Wales (WWT Llanelli), where i`m a volunteer in the grounds over a weekend, for agreeing to advertise my art website.

The Centre is excellent for both birdwatchers and for seeing many breeds from the across the world `up close`. The hides have fantastic views over the marsh and scrapes, and over the last few weeks have had sightings of Bittern and Hen Harrier, as well as the large amount of wintering wildfowl and waders.
