7th February 2009:Well this little chap was going to be a very tricky challenge, particularly when coming to the loose feathers Long Tailed Tits have that give them their slightly fluffy look. This watercolour - a long way from reaching that stage - hit a disaster this evening and i`ve decided that it was not recoverable.
I think this is only the third painting that has really hit a point where it couldn`t be redeemed into something I would see as satisfactory, so it is now in with next week`s bin collection! very frustrating! For me that is the challenge of watercolour - it can be quite unforgiving, and occasionally things like this happen. I was really hoping to be able to add it to my collection over the next few weeks, but not now.
Time for a strong cup of tea to put my world back in order .....
