Last week, on 29th October, we were at the launch evening for the first solo album release by Dave Hill of Slade. This took part at The Mount Hotel in Wolverhampton, with tickets strictly limited to 100 people.
The album`s called "Dirtyfoot Lane", a local place he used to go in his youth, but still walks down with his family now. A very personal album, particularly some tracks that reflect experiences of struggles with mental health, it`s a more country type style as opposed to the rock style of the traditional Slade sound.
It was a great evening, with Dave on form with his wealth of funny stories, often getting completely sidetracked on to other subjects, but he also spent time with everyone at the end.
He has another two albums made, but they`re not yet ready for release,
A great time, and journey of delays coming back, but glad we went.
